Meet our Grantees

Annex Teen Clinic provides low-cost/sliding-scale sexuality-related health care, education, counseling, and outreach to adolescents at risk for unplanned pregnancies and in need of reproductive health care.

Carissa:

Hi. I’m Carissa Stevens and I’m the education program manager at the Annex Teen Clinic.

The Annex Teen Clinic is a sexual and reproductive health clinic for teens and young adults. Folks come through for clinical services to support their sexual health and wellbeing in that way and we also provide comprehensive sexuality education in community and the schools around our area.

What makes me feel really passionate about this work is being able to do it with the lens Annex does it through. We are very grounded in values around community, reproductive justice, centering youth voice, and intersectionality, seeing whole people and then understanding the way that sexuality is a through-line through so many different pieces of life.

Because of the money we get from Constellation, we’re able to fill in gaps that some of our other funding has rigidity around. It allows us to really give the education that our young people are seeking, needing, and wanting, and to do it in a way that is grounded not only in our values, but in what we know about our community.

When young people have the tools, resources, and knowledge that they need, they are able to make decisions that work for their lives and that helps them now and into their futures as well.
